PRODUCT / FICTIONAL EXAMPLE
Cable tray
A perforated tray run on a roof, carrying DC and AC separately. The separation is the specification, not the load.

How it is made.
The tray is folded from strip and the rungs are welded in. The rung spacing decides the support the cable gets, and the separation between runs is what keeps the two circuits apart as the standard requires.

Every value above is an illustrative example for a fictional range. It is not a quotation, a capability statement or a measurement of any real product.
Why separation is the specification.
Because DC and AC runs have to be kept apart, and the tray is where that is decided. A tray sized for the cable and not for the separation is a tray that has to be re-run.
What the rung pitch decides.
How much the cable is supported. A cable spanning too far between rungs sags and abrades at the edge, and the damage appears years later at a point nobody inspected.
