Bring your files to the question.

A useful library trial begins with a small representative set. File extensions alone do not describe navigation, fonts or document rights.

01

Choose four representative files

Use a reflowable chapter, a fixed-layout reference, a scanned page and a file with internal links. Keep confidential material out of an early demonstration. An extension may be recognized while a complex layout still needs adaptation; record the actual file version and behavior.

02

Trace the import route

List the proposed transfer route and every dependency: a cable, removable storage, a browser, an app or an account. Note whether a local copy exists and how it can be removed. This template handles no uploads and cannot establish a future device’s privacy or compatibility.

03

Try finding it again

Import a small set with similar names and several revisions. Search, sort and open the intended revision, then remove it. Ask how metadata, cover images and duplicate documents are handled. A successful import is the beginning of the library workflow, not its final acceptance.

A practical sample set

  1. 01

    Reflowable text

  2. 02

    Fixed-layout reference

  3. 03

    Scan with no text layer

  4. 04

    Linked document with several revisions

Question for your brief

Which transfer route and original file version will be used in a trial?

Record it as unresolved. A future sample or document should provide the answer before a purchasing decision.
