DEMO — fictional range. Local brief only, NOT SENT. No personal data is collected or transmitted.

RANGE

Three items, and what settles each one.

The range covers acetate frames, metal frames and hard cases. Each page carries the feature that decides whether it works and the questions worth settling before an order.

Original 3D render of a acetate frame.

Item

Acetate frame

A milled and polished acetate front with a keyhole bridge. The material is the fitting: acetate can be heated and adjusted to a face, which metal cannot.

Original 3D render of a metal frame.

Item

Metal frame

A thin wire front with adjustable nose pads and a sprung hinge. Metal is stronger per gram and does not take a bend to the face.

Original 3D render of a hard case.

Item

Hard case

A clamshell case with a lined interior and a hinge that holds. It is judged by whether the frame survives being carried, not by how it looks on a shelf.

How the range is organised.

By how each item is adjusted rather than by what it is made of. A frame is brought to a face, or its pads are; a case is not adjusted at all.

Acetate frames
Adjusted by heating the material · the whole frame can be brought to the face
Metal frames
Adjusted at the pads and the temples · the front cannot be bent
Combined frames
A metal front with acetate temples · adjusted at both
Cases
Not adjusted · decided by the lining and the hinge
