BOARDLINEProtective packaging / demo

DEMO — fictional range. Local brief only, NOT SENT. No personal data is collected or transmitted.

MATERIAL

Six materials, and what each one is chosen for.

Packaging materials are chosen for strength per gram and for how they behave at the packing station, then for how they print.

Six material samples: two kraft films, clear and translucent film, a dark kraft and a sage moulding.

Illustrative material record

Coextruded film
Mailers · the layers do different jobs, and the outer takes the print
Recycled kraft
Void fill · cheaper and softer, and it dusts
Virgin kraft
Void fill where dust matters · cleaner, and it costs more
Cast stretch film
Pallet wrap · stretches further than blown, and it is quieter
Blown stretch film
Pallet wrap · tougher and noisier, with less stretch
Corrugated board
Outer cases · the board grade decides the stacking, not the price

Illustrative examples for a fictional range. Material selection depends on the contents, the journey and the packing method, and is confirmed against a specification rather than a web page.

Why cast and blown film are not interchangeable.

Because they fail differently. Cast film stretches further and holds a load with less material; blown film is tougher and resists a puncture better. Which one is right depends on the load rather than the price.

What the recycled content changes.

The dust. Recycled kraft void fill sheds fibre, and in a clean assembly area that dust is a defect source rather than an inconvenience.
