A substrate question starts with the actual proposed counterpart and its source. An image of a component does not identify the surface or supporting context it will meet. Record the counterpart reference, location or project scope and the provider responsible for explaining the relation. Keep an unknown substrate visible as an open question rather than replacing it with a familiar label.
Different parties may hold different parts of the source record. Note which drawing describes the component and which source describes the counterpart. Ask who can review their relationship and what additional information is needed. The collection supplies no material selection, assessment, fixing pattern or engineering detail for that relationship.
Before carrying the question into the layer study, check whether either source issue has changed. A new counterpart can require another review even when the selected module identity is unchanged. Include both current references in the later real request. The local record only organizes the question; it cannot establish suitability, mounting requirements or compatibility for a project.
