LASTWAYFootwear lasts & components / demo

DEMO — fictional range. Local brief only, NOT SENT. No personal data is collected or transmitted.

RANGE

Three parts, and what each one decides about the shoe.

The range covers lasts, sole stacks and upper panels. Each product page carries the tolerance that decides the fit and the questions worth settling before an order.

Original 3D render of a shoe last.

Product

Shoe last

The form a shoe is built on. Every panel is cut and lasted against it, so the last is the specification the rest of the shoe is measured against.

Product

Sole stack

A midsole and outsole separated, so both faces are legible. The stack is where the weight, the abrasion and the moisture all live.

Product

Upper panel

A cut vamp with a seam allowance and two eyelet flaps. The panel is the pattern, and the pattern is where the fit is actually decided.

How the range is organised.

By what the part decides rather than by what it looks like. The last decides the shape, the stack decides the loading, and the panel decides the pattern.

Lasts
Decided by the fit, because every panel is cut against them
Stacks
Decided by the drop and the bond, because those are what fail
Panels
Decided by the pairing, because a shoe sits straight or it does not
All parts
Decided by the size record, because a size is a designation rather than a measurement
