PRODUCT / FICTIONAL EXAMPLE
Sole stack
A midsole and outsole separated, so both faces are legible. The stack is where the weight, the abrasion and the moisture all live.

How it is made.
A siped rubber outsole under a compression-moulded midsole, with a heel wedge that lifts the rear. The three parts are bonded, and the bond is what fails first in service.

Every value above is an illustrative example for a fictional range. It is not a quotation, a capability statement or a measurement of any real product.
Why the drop is stated separately.
Because the difference between heel and forefoot decides how the foot loads. A stack quoted without its drop is a stack you cannot compare with another.
What the inspection looks for.
The bond line. A stacked sole that has delaminated looks sound and separates under load, which is why the bond strength is stated rather than assumed.
