FRAME / FICTIONAL EXAMPLE
Acetate frame
A milled and polished acetate front with a keyhole bridge. The material is the fitting: acetate can be heated and adjusted to a face, which metal cannot.

How it is made.
The front is cut from a block, then tumbled and polished. The bridge and the temples are the two places a frame is adjusted, and acetate takes an adjustment that stays because the material has memory at temperature.

Every value above is an illustrative example for a fictional range. It is not a quotation, a specification or a measurement of any real frame.
What a photograph cannot show.
Whether it fits. A frame is chosen against a face measurement, and the same frame looks identical on a face it suits and on one it does not.
What it cannot show either.
Whether the material takes an adjustment. Acetate can be heated and bent to a face and will hold; the same adjustment on a metal front is a permanent deformation.
