CONTACTUMConnectors / demo

DEMO — fictional range. Local brief only, NOT SENT. No personal data is collected or transmitted.

RANGE

Three components, and the joint each belongs to.

The range covers circular connectors, terminal blocks and crimp contacts. Each page carries the feature that decides the joint and the questions worth settling before an order.

Component

Circular connector

A metal-shell circular connector with seven contacts on a ring. The shell is the keying and the seal, so the contact layout is the easy part.

Component

Terminal block

A four-way block with screw terminals and a wire entry per way. The pitch is the specification, because it sets the wire size the block will take.

Component

Crimp contact

A crimped contact with a mating pin, a retention shoulder and a barrel. The crimp is the connection: everything else only holds it in place.

How the range is organised.

By the joint rather than by the shell. A circular connector is decided by its keying, a block by its pitch, a contact by its crimp.

Shelled connectors
Decided by keying and sealing, because that is what the interface is
Blocks
Decided by pitch and divider, because that is what holds the rating
Contacts
Decided by the crimp and the plating, because that is the connection
Accessories
Decided by the shell, because they have to fit it
