Tapered planter
A thrown-profile pot with a rolled rim and a single drainage hole. It lives outside all year, so what decides it is frost and standing water rather than its shape.
How it is made.
Pressed or slip-cast to a tapered profile, then the rim is rolled and the drainage hole cut before firing. The taper is what lets pots stack for freight, and the rim is what stops the wall chipping when it does.
