Where the wall
meets the path.

A low wall and a doorway bring the light closer to the architecture. The fitting detail, walking approach and surface texture need to be considered together.

Note 01

Resolve the wall first

Identify the substrate, backing, finish thickness and cable entry. Lintel is drawn as a surface-mounted concept, with no certified bracket, cutout or sealing detail. Coordinate all actual fixings with approved supplier information.

Allow room to remove the enclosure for maintenance. A clean-looking front elevation is incomplete if service work requires disturbing the wall finish.

Note 02

Read the lower approach

Look towards the opening from both directions and at different eye heights. An underside aperture can still be visible from below. Check reflected brightness on glass, polished paving and a neighboring door surface.

Take a wall sample into the mock-up. A rough surface and a smooth surface can make the same concept look very different; a scene render cannot establish uniformity.

Note 03

Keep safety requirements explicit

Changes of level, doors and accessible routes may have requirements that this illustrative collection does not address. Do not infer code compliance, emergency operation or safe illumination from the placement of a wall slot.

Ask the appropriate project professional to define the required criteria, then obtain verified product data and test the actual configuration. Preserve any unresolved questions in the sample review.
