HELIOSPANSolar mounting / demo

DEMO — fictional range. Local brief only, NOT SENT. No personal data is collected or transmitted.

RANGE

Three components, and what fixes each one.

The range covers framed modules, extruded rails and mid-clamps. Each page carries the feature the site decides and the questions worth settling before an order.

Original 3D render of a framed module.

Component

Framed module

A framed photovoltaic module, 4 × 3 cells in this example. The frame is what the mounting system holds, so the frame section matters as much as the cells.

Component

Mounting rail

An extruded aluminium rail with a slot along the top. The section is the specification: it decides the span between supports and the load the array can take.

Original 3D render of a mid-clamp.

Component

Mid-clamp

A clamp with two wings that bear on the frames of two adjacent modules. It is the smallest part in the array and the one that decides whether the modules stay put.

How the range is organised.

By what the load case fixes rather than by what the part is. A module is fixed by its frame, a rail by its span, a clamp by its bolt.

Modules
Decided by the frame section, because that is what is clamped
Rails
Decided by the span, because that is what the section modulus sets
Clamps
Decided by the bolt and the torque, because that is what holds
Fixings
Decided by the roof, because that is what they go into
