USE DESK
A pet good is specified for the animal, not the room.
Pet goods are bought for what an animal does to them, and every one of those demands is settled before the order. These four questions decide the part.
- Which animal
- Size and weight, because a bed leans or it does not
- Which behaviour
- Leaning, scratching, pushing or chewing, because each chooses a material
- How often it is washed
- Because that is the regime, not the number on the label
- Where it lives
- Indoor, outdoor or a vehicle, because each changes the colour and the fill
Where each decision comes from
| Behaviour | What it decides | What it costs to get wrong |
|---|---|---|
| Leaning | Rim height and fill recovery | A bed that becomes a mattress after the first wash |
| Scratching | Weave and cover weight | A cover that opens at the thread |
| Pushing | Stand weight and foot grip | A bowl that travels across the room and spills |
| Chewing | A strap or handle that becomes an access point |
The expensive mistake.
Specifying for the room. A bed chosen to match a floor and an animal that leans will be a mattress by the second wash, and nothing in the photograph suggests it.
And the one that looks harmless.
A quilt interval widened by a few centimetres to save a pass. Nothing shows at making, and the fill migrates to the corners within a month.
