THE PART DEFINES THE ROUTE

Three geometries.
Different questions.

01 / Milling

Milled mounting bracket

Which surfaces locate the part in the assembly?

02 / Turning

Turned locating sleeve

Does the bore or outside diameter locate the part?

03 / Milling

Sensor housing body

Which mating faces are functional?

AX-M01 / Milling

Milled mounting bracket

A pocketed aluminum bracket for a fixture-mounting conversation. The base face, locating bore and assembly holes each answer a different question about how the part fits.

AX-T02 / Turning

Turned locating sleeve

A hollow stainless-steel sleeve with a bore, outside diameter and end-face relationship. Its buying brief begins with the feature that locates the assembly.

DRAWING / ROUTE / MEASUREMENT

A workshop shaped by the drawing.

The workshop model joins three roles: engineering review, process planning and measurement coordination. A bracket may start with a stable base face; a sleeve may start with its bore and concentric features. These examples help explain why two parts made from the same alloy can need very different routes. Manufacturing discussions therefore follow geometry and use, rather than a promise of one universal tolerance.

A CONSIDERED NEXT STEP

Prepare a machining RFQ

  1. 01

    Read the drawing

Align revision, units, datums and intended assembly.

  2. 02

    Plan the route

Discuss milling or turning, tool access and material condition.

  3. 03

    Define verification

Agree critical features and the evidence needed at sample review.

  4. 04

    Review the handover

Record finish, packing and revision-control requirements.
