Start with the output

A roll, a tape and a photo sheet are different development decisions. Start with the output you want, then ask what device and process can produce it.

Media decisions

Name the unknowns
before sampling.

01

Physical fit

A media width alone is insufficient. Core or cassette geometry, feed path, backing, sensor response and loading sequence are engineering questions.

02

Imaging process

The printer and media must be considered together. The concept does not claim a specific commercial print engine, consumable code or licensed media system.

03

Use and storage

Agree on the intended object or page, handling, storage and expected display period. Ask the supplier for evidence relevant to those conditions.

04

Refill communication

A buyer should be able to identify the right refill from its name, packaging and documentation. Include the refill story in the sample review.

Why are no media dimensions shown?

The templates define the buyer journey before an actual supplier and engineering platform have been selected. Specific dimensions should be added only after the matching feed and media system are confirmed.

Can I request a different stock?

Use the notes field in the local builder to record that request. It remains an unvalidated development requirement and is not sent automatically.

Make the media part of the brief.
