PACK / FICTIONAL EXAMPLE
Insert tray
A moulded pulp tray with three cavities, for holding parts apart. The cavities are the specification: they decide whether the contents touch in transit.

How it is made.
Moulded from recycled pulp to a tool, so the cavity shape is fixed at tooling rather than at cutting. The wall between cavities is what keeps two parts from meeting, and it is the feature that decides whether the tray works.

Every value above is an illustrative example for a fictional range. It is not a quotation, a capability statement or a measurement of any real pack.
What a sample cannot show.
How it survives a journey. A sample is packed by hand and carried to a meeting; a production pack is filled on a line and loaded onto a vehicle, and the difference between the two is where most failures come from.
What it cannot show either.
Whether the hundredth case is the same size as the first. Board is affected by humidity, and a case that fits on Monday can be tight on Friday.
