REVISION

A mould revision is a stock revision.

A change to a moulded part changes every unit already in the warehouse, because the old ones are still saleable and the new ones look identical.

Why the stock column belongs on the log.

Because two revisions of a moulded part are visually identical. If the log does not say whether they may be mixed, they will be mixed, and the failure appears later with no way to tell which unit was which.

The habit worth copying.

Recording which batch was the first made to the new revision. Without it, a batch sits between two revisions and nobody can say which tool made it.
